Agricultural Entomologist, Product Stewardship Lead for Corteva Agriscience
Dr. Nolwazi Mkize is a Product Stewardship Lead for Corteva, focusing on Africa and the Middle East. She has a PhD in Entomology from Rhodes University, and her career has spanned agricultural research, product development and regulation, and policy.
Nolwazi worked as a researcher at ARC-Vegetable and Ornamental Plants where she extended her knowledge of various potato pests. Later, she worked as a regulatory manager both in government and the private sector for over a decade. In her career, Nolwaze has been able to name a new insect species and translate scientific terms into the local language to for better communication with local communities.
